DJ Verse One and his crew

Damn.. It's been a while since I've posted anything on here.  Actually I haven't been shooting much of anything recently.  I've been occupied with my other job and other projects such as making a Deadmau5 head for somebody's Halloween project.. and the making of the "Clock Heads" for the Movember Photobomb set.  I'll post some of those later.

THIS particular post happens to be about my most recent photoshoot.  Verse contacted me a while back asking me to shoot him and his boys, and I haven't been shooting anything lately so of course I agreed.   They were a great group of guys and we had a lot of fun with the shoot.  Check the photos out.. I personally think they turned out pretty dope!!!  And lookout for an oldschool hip hop mixtape colab between me and DJ Verse One

Royal

Here's a photo I've taken recently... Lately I've been fascinated with the "one light" technique of Zack Arias and I really wanted to break out the black seemless and play around with very dramatic lighting.  So a few weeks ago I asked Royal if she would come take some photos with me.. here's what we came up with...

Amanda Mead

I just recently discovered that my co-worker Amanda is quite the talented musician.  Lately all I've been shooting is a lot of models and such and asked her if she needed some promotional photos.  I told her that I had a studio and that offered my service as a photographer.  She was more then happy to take me up on my offer.  Now, Amanda isn't a model and she didn't know how to pose in front of the camera.  She actually seemed to be a bit camera shy to be honest.  So to feel more comfortable, she grabbed my guitar and started playing and gave me such an amazing performance.  I feel privileged to have been blessed with a private show from this very very talented artist.  Without further adieu...

DJ JOOCE!!

I'm very proud of cousin (respect cousin) and dear friend.. Jooce James.  Last night we both competed in the Canadian Finals for DMC Canada where the winner wins a plane ticket to the world Championships in London (http://www.dmcdjchamps.com/index.php).  Apparently the points were so close between first and second place that the judges were in argument over it in the back room.  DJ Jooce came in second place in our country.  So gotta give love to my boy!!  Mad love going out to all the competitors in the battle.. I'd never in my life had that kind of stage fright.. so to get up in front of that crowd and show your set... RESPECT to each and every one of you.  Special shouts going out to Vekked who took first and Jimmy Riggz who took third.  Hat's off to you fellas.. Now that I'm done rambling.. here's a quick snaphot I took of Jooce a few weeks ago at the afterparty after the Regional Heat.

Joycelyn S

So a very dear friend of mine (one of my oldest friends) asked me if she could have her photos done.  She said she wanted to have them done for quite some time now and with her birthday coming up, she wanted to treat herself to some portraits.  So I told her that we'd shoot a few locations that I had in mind and some studio shots and that the photos would be my birthday present for her.  It's been a while since I've done a shoot that took all day.. but I definitely enjoyed myself!!  Credit also going out to Tiffany Alfano for assisting with the shoot and Tess Luxton for providing part of the wardrobe!!

Erica Hope

I wanted to play around with shadows and I saw a photo of this girl in a black dress.  So I messaged her and asked her if she would come model for me... Here's the shot I was going for..

Robot Photobomb with Steve Haining

So I got together with my good friend Steve Haining and said "Let's throw a party"..  but not just any party.  I wanted to put together the coolest photo booth that Hamilton has ever seen in a club.  So I took the idea from some friends of mine in Toronto from "Hello Photo" and built some robot heads and Steve provided the set.  We went UPSTAIRS@Ceilidh House and put everything together.  Here's a few photos from the party.  I'd like to thank Michael Christie for volunteering his time as the main photographer for our Photobooth for the evening.

Screamer????

I forgot about this.  I was very proud of my friend Matt who had an article written about him.  Matt's a teacher who also happens to be the lead vocalist in a band called Mojave Bloom.  I, however, know him as one half of the drummer and a dj combo.  Anyhow, when I went to read the article itself I found a pleasant surprise. The Great Up North - Lake Memesagamesing

As a child, my mother and her husband would take me and my sister up north to a cottage along lake Memesagamesing.  Every year we would enjoy part of our summers at this cottage with them and a few of our best friends that we have brought up over the years.  It's been 16 years since going to the cottage but we decided to go back this year for old times sake.  Here's a few pictures from our adventures.

Ritual Oath Photoshoot

This was more of a catalogue shoot rather then a creative shoot.  Ritual Oath will soon be launching and selling various different clothing.  They asked me if I was willing to shoot their clothing line.  Here are a few photos from the shoot.  Models: Nicole Krasic and Prab Dhillon

DJ Qbert!!!

I'm VERY very blessed to have been able to have met and work with one of my idols and heroes.  Of course I'm talking about DJ Qbert.  He is a very humble and gentle soul and he has inspired me and definitely resurrected my love for turntablism.  Check out the photos from a photo shoot done with the greatest scratch DJ in the world.

Everyday People

My boys EDP asked me if I could do some pictures for them.  They're a sick ass hip hop group right here from Hamilton Ontario.  Not only have I been working with them as far as pictures are concerned, but I've been working with them and they're music.  Look out for their mixtape release party (mixed by yours truly) going down Upstairs @ Ceilidh House presented by Beatbinjaz.  Gonna be a sick ass show!!
